“I let my inhibitions go, and they fell in the wrong place. I didn’t know he would be my unraveling. I didn’t know he was twenty-five.”

A single mother often lives by certain rules, and Angela Petrov has made certain to adhere to hers: Mom first, career second, and no man will meet her child unless they will be in her life long-term.

However, with her daughter now in college, the company she has worked at for over a decade facing major changes, and no lover in sight, Angela’s life has lost all its carefully construed and configured organization.

When news that the annual, employee, Labor Day party in the Hamptons will still be held, Angela tries to bail out. However, her best friend and coworker, Autumn, convinces her otherwise.

Turns out that, while attempting to enjoy the elite Hampton nightlife with her coworkers, she meets a much-younger, tall, dark, and sexy man who offers her an escape for the long weekend. So, throwing caution to the ocean breeze, she accepts his offer of a true time-out in life, focusing only on time between the sheets with no …strings attached.

What happens when you allow yourself to let go of life’s stresses, release inhibitions, and embrace desire?

You chase regret.

Bastien aka Bass aka Joe - Cocky and sure of himself. He's a smooth-talker, panty-dropper, dirty-talker extraordinaire! He's passionate in what he believes and is not afraid to fight for what he wants! Bass captivated me with every turn of the page. He's like an old soul in a rock hard, kickass, young body! He's even got jokes that help to lighten a mood -

“I googled average last night, because I’ve clearly never seen it.” I can’t help my silent giggles. “I’d apologize on behalf of all the others, but… well, fuck them.”

Angela aka Brigitte - single mom, independent, smart, hard worker who puts everyone before herself. I found myself being able to relate to Angela as a mother and as a woman in the workforce.

Just as Bass tells Angela to not articulate her body, but feel - MJ's words are not meant to be just read - BUT to be felt. As a reader of these words, I felt every hesitated breath, every emotion, every thought. While reading I felt as though I became one with the characters .. I felt their desires, their wants, their regrets, their hurts, their pains, their sorrows, their doubts and their successes .. I felt EVERY LITTLE THING!

MJ won me over on the taboo subject of an older woman with a younger man when I looked beyond what is socially acceptable but rather focused on their love, their compatibility and their devotion to one another. What is right for them is all that mattered. Loving someone for who they are to you, who they are to themselves and what you can be together is a rare and special find - hold on tight and embrace your #foreverlove!
